When you're remodeling (or simply repainting) there are endless options when it comes to layout, style, and especially color. Some might choose neutral colors like whites, greys, and beiges while others choose colors that pop like jewel toned purples, turquoise, or bright yellow. Regardless of what you choose, here are our 5 tips for choosing paint color - and overall color scheme - in your kichen or bath.
1. To begin, you might base your color palette off of one specific item. For example, there might be a piece of stained glass or handmade tiles you're looking to incorporate into your space. Be sure to come up with coordinating paint colors, countertops, and flooring to go with it.
2. It sounds simple, but choose colors you love and that you respond to emotionally. Many people opt to choose colors outside their comfort zone (which is also great), but you like specific colors for a reason and it's often best to stick with them. Tip: Look in your closet and evaluate what color you have the most of, and go from there.
3. In the kitchen, we recommend choosing your countertop first, and then deciding on a backsplash. It's easier to choose the backsplash second because there is more flexibility in terms of color choices and design.
