Re-Thinking Subway Tile

August 10, 2017

When most of us think about subway tile, we picture a solid white tile, laid like brick. It’s basic. It’s clean. It’s simple. Some might say “ho hum”. But what if you could kick that “ho hum” up a notch without losing the clean, simple look of a subway tile? You can! There are so many patterns a standard 3” x 6” subway tile looks fabulous in!

Here are a few options besides the standard running bond (brick lay) we’re all so used to seeing:

Not only are these options gorgeous alone, but combining them can make a lovely accent or detail. Perfect for a framed decorative area over a cooktop, a bar sink, or even an entire shower wall.

Our favorite resource for tile, DalTile in Manassas, has a gorgeous showroom with tons of great examples of subway tile design options. Source:  www.daltile.com
