1. Hidden Appliances

The top trend in kitchen design for 2017 is hidden appliances. By putting a matching door front over the appliances, it allows for a seamless look. It also affords the opportunity to allow the backsplash to shine as the main focal piece of your kitchen design.

2. Bold Painted Cabinets

Painted cabinets have been on trend since 2015, but we are seeing homeowners go bold in their cabinet color choice. We expect to see rich and deep colors, especially in kitchens that have plenty of natural light. Gray and beige are no longer the only colors in the spotlight, as emerald, forest green, navy and black are all making their way into the kitchen design for many homeowners.

4. Flat Panel Door Fronts

Flat panel doors are not a new design feature and are usually seen in more contemporary and modern homes. But what we are seeing is the emergence of flat panel doors in wood tones, not acrylic. By having a wood flat panel door design, it allows you to showcase a high end design feature, such as marble countertops, while keeping with a seamless design.

5. Geometric Backsplash Tile

Tile patterns such as chevron, herringbone and hexagons can provide contrast and dimension in kitchens with a relatively clean and minimal color palette. This transitional kitchen’s angular backsplash brings visual relief to the space’s crisp, white design. By having the tile go all the way up to the ceiling, it gives a dramatic design effect.
